Lesson 545: Little by Little

What a beautiful July night, Readers!

Here's a great photo for starters.
I took this on my parents' Lake Erie beach.

There isn't much beach this year because of the high water levels.

The northeast winds build the beach,
little by little,
pebble by pebble,
it does the trick!
The beach gets built back up eventually.
Nature always has a way
of balancing itself out.

The phrase little by little does the trick isn't credited to Eloise.
Props to Aesop.
Remember the fables?
It's the moral to my favorite fable involving pebbles

The Crow and the Pitcher.

How you can apply the Rule of 7 to make the best 2018

If you are foggy on fables,
here is your lesson for the weekend.

Aesop was very cool,
although there is much debate about him.
Aristotle gave mention to Aesop--
apparently a slave,
and his ethnicity is not certain--
perhaps a Greek,
maybe an African.

No cameras back when he lived
somewhere around 600 BC
so no one is sure.

Here's a little refresher if you've forgotten the story.

Wild Wednesday For today’s animal, comic mash-up I had to do one of my favorite Aesop’s Fable, “The Crow and the Pitcher”. I tried to go for a wood carving or shadow puppet type look for this strip. I’m quite happy with how it turned out.

For those of you who log onto my blog each
week to scroll through the pictures and skip the text--
here's a video of the story.

I love the crow!
She's such a problem solver.
(Had to be a she....)

For the heck of it,
go to wikipedia and type in the search box
List of Aesop's Fables.
So many of them!

At the bottom of the list there are some falsehoods noted.
There were many wrongly attributed--
including A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing,

but this title struck me as funny.

Fables wrongly attributed to Aesop[edit]

And, I had the perfect photo to add to the illustrated version
of An Ass Eating Thistles.

Hubby was eating thistles tonight after a coach from the other team
accused him of giving signals from the outfield.

Sam's Little League team had a big win in sections tonight
even with the mistaken fly swatting and hat waves
from the center field fence.

See you at 3:00, Dubois!

The ball team got some of the wiggles out in a wavy lake last weekend.

Boogie boards,
inner tubes,
and life preservers for all those partaking
did the trick!

So did some driftwood sticks

serving as bats.

Sunsets are always so enjoyable,

almost as much as watching people enjoy and capture the sunset!

My family enjoyed the North East Fireman's Cherry Festival this week.

Little by little they raise funds
needed to support their local fire department through dunking booths,

games,

and rides.

Little by little Natalie's Happy People are becoming a Thing.

There was such a demand for her shirts sold to support
Barber National Institute's Beast on the Bay,
that we've reopened the store until July 29th.
That's when we'll be closing the window to the world of  blue shirts
where the land is so happy
there are two bright yellow sunshines.

Look closely at Natalie's Happy People.
I think they are a happy representations of people with disabilities.
The little guy on the bottom is missing an ear and some feet.
No one has the same number of legs,
but Lord in Heaven do they have smiles.
Missing a leg doesn't matter a bit!

Here they are in boxes for distribution on my front porch.
One of them is headed to the Ellen Degeneres Show!
I think she'd love one,
don't you?

Cousin Bonnie is especially happy.
After years of relentless suggestions for a hoodie version,
little by little she wore Eloise down,
and got her wish!

If you order,

be sure to click the arrow in the size box
and scroll down.

The general adult sizes are listed first,
then extra large sizes,
followed by youth sizes.
You have to do a little scrolling to find them.

The tees are unisex.
My girls wear a small.
Sam wears a large and it's pretty roomy.

 Unisex Hoodie versions,

And women's cut tank tops.

If competing in Beast on the Bay is a bite larger than you want to chew right now,
build your endurance little by little
and start here!

No automatic alt text available.

Eloise is building her endurance back little by little.
It's been a very slow go training for this year's Presque Isle half marathon.

I only have three working toes on one foot,

and four on the other!

The Lord blessed me with the ability to summarize and write,
but I did inherit some lousy feet.

I tried some cupping to help my feet.
I didn't get the cool, lasting marks like we saw on the shoulders of Michael Phelps

but I did have a neat round marking for an hour or two.
I'll keep at it and see if it helps.

Little by little does the trick, Readers!
That's what I want you all to remember tonight.

One step at a time and you'll be up that hill that lies ahead of you in no time.

Eloise
XOXO
