Happy New Year, Readers!
Welcome 2019!
Just as I review the past twelve months at year's end
for my Lamp Post family,
I also create another annual review
for my Team Adrenaline workout group.
It's a program I strongly believe in.
My workout mates aren't family--
well, except for my sister-in-law Jean,
who got me started with it six years ago.
But, the participants have become like family.
They are not only more than the blood,
but the sweat
and tears, too.
The outdoor fitness group is run by
Erie Chiropractor Dr. Steve Krauza.
with various times and locations.
Mondays 5:15-5:45 am Penn State Behrend
Tuesdays 6:00-7:00 pm Iroquois High School
\Thursdays 6:00-7:00 pm Iroquois High School (winter location)
Saturday mornings 7:30-8:30 am various locations--parks and playgrounds
Team Adrenaline operates off a punch card system
so you pay for what you actually use.
Eloise has long been a supporter of the chiropractic lifestyle.
It has been my main avenue of health care since I've been a little girl.
To an outsider,
we look like a running group sometimes,
but that's just what makes for really good snapshots.
We actually do very little running for any length of time,
so don't let that scare you away from trying it out this year.
We do squats,
planks,
stair climbing
and just about any move that involves zero fancy equipment
and uses just your own body weight and the resources around you.
Organic fitness, so they call it.
Lots of people leave their cars in their garages
and will ride their bikes to the workouts during nice weather.
During not-so-nice weather
we carry on in spite of it!
And sometimes on the worst of days,
we are treated to coffee afterwards!
Heck,
if the Erieites waited for a "nice day" for an outdoor workout,
we'd fit one in about six times a year.
It's a great group to be a part of if you need a little encouragement,
or need someone to keep you company
when you can only do what you can.
Look carefully at the photos.
Do you see someone like you?
Team Adrenaline is one of the most inclusive groups around.
People of all ages and all fitness levels are welcome.
Kids come free with an adult.
People with special needs love to come!
There are plenty of willing buddies to lend assistance
if you have some challenges.
We think of ourselves as more of a wellness group
because of the social and community connections we make.
Don't be afraid to give it a try this year!
So when you go about making your
New Year's resolutions for 2019,
pick something that seems a little harder
than what you think you are capable of.
Eloise is always so encouraging of people to give this a try,
because I think so many people are like me--
not super athletic,
not super fit,
and never played on a team before.
but if you want some more time to think,
mark your calendars for April.
Doc always offers free workouts during the month of April.
If you mark it down on your Erie Bank calendar
check out the photographer for the January page!
The jerk beat me out for the Parks & Recreation calendar contest.
My submission should have won,
but his DID have a lamp post.
Yeah, that must have been the reason.
That, and that you weren't allowed to include PEOPLE in the photographs.
Who reads the fine print anyway?

Fine Print Warming:
If you are peer pressured into riding your first log ride
with your mother's zoom lens nearby
adolescent boy heckling of your freak-out moment
may last for years.
I've never left a workout feeling less than a champion.
You can feel this way, too!
I hope this blog creates a spark
that lights your fire.
Shine bright.
The more little fires we light,
be can build ourselves a bonfire of a healthy community.
And that,
My Readers,
is my overall goal.
Let's make Erie a
happier
healthier
place to live.
If you'd like to see some more photos of Team Adrenaline workouts
and members,

I set the pictures to James Blunt's Bonfire Hearts.
