It's August.
It's a weird word.
Not August.
What.
Seriously.
Look at it.
WHAT
Maybe it's because I've spent
so many years teaching kids to read.
They poke a pointer finger
underneath each letter,
sounding out....w----hat
Then they will eventually ask--
What kind of hat is a W hat?
Smart kids.
What was also the answer to a riddle
that was circulating facebook last week.
I saw this riddle posted on a friend's page
and smugly contacted her with my answer:
You can't trick the Gifted Teacher!
The name of the son was Someone.

Old Eloise was shocked!
Look closely at the punctuation in the riddle.
What is the name of the fourth son.
That's a statement, not a question.
I have a bunch of good riddles.
I'll post another next week.
Here's a WHAT! with an exclamation at the end.
Our sweet Natalie got a job at Penn State Behrend!
Thanks to the keen eye of her case manager, Heather,
we were made aware of the opportunity just days ago.
Natalie prepped earlier this week,
then interviewed this morning
with the help of Tammie and Marquise
from the Office of Rehabilitation.
She was hired on the spot!
How about a WHAT?
Ellen and Cousin Jack
10 minutes ago they were trading My Little Pet Shops
arguing if dogs were better than cats
and boys were better than girls.
Now they are a freshman and a junior in college.
Here are a few more Whats of the week--
you can add the punctuation mark
that seems the most appropriate.
Big waves on the lake.

My camera captured this ball to the helmet!
I found the true guardian of the Northern border.
Hazel takes a ride.
I love the bird on a wire.

Find me a quote to put along that wire!
Gorgeous yard art by a former colleague
found on Dewey Road in North East.
And a final,
very interesting way to find out
What happened in history.
Check out the History Daily Page
