Lesson 529: Let There Be Light!

Hoppy Easter weekend, Readers!

We are living life with light here at the Lamp Post.

The sun came out today.

This daffodil looks anxious to get outside,

but with the mercury reading 36,

I told her

don't rush it.

We still had a good layer of snow in some areas,

and as the temperatures warmed above freezing,

we got quite a bit of rain

followed by a lot of fog.

Eloise's first stop on a foggy morning--

South Harborcreek United Methodist Church.

There's a cemetery just wanting to be photographed

on the hilltop just above the church.

The old gravestones look so neat in the fog.

This squirrel didn't seem too bothered by my presence.

I almost missed a great capture of an immature eagle

spotted on my road.

I didn't have my camera with me,

but a quick phone call to neighbor Laura,

and she got this one.

Be on the look out for him neighbors!

He likes to sit on top of telephone poles and rooftops.

The highlight of the week was Sam's 11th birthday.

Every boy needs a pair of inflatable boxing gloves.

Thanks, Grandma and Grandpa.

He got a red bike to match, too.

Our tall guy had to move up to a 26 inch.

The spotlight of the week goes to Hubby--

he won another big bowling tournament.

That's two wins in two weeks!

Sam tried to place in the state tournament at Sunset Lanes

in Farrell, PA

My big, little guy fell a couple of spots short of his goal,

but that didn't stop me from trying to find something interesting to photograph.

There are still some brick streets in Farrell.

And to fit nicely with the "light"theme of this week's blog-

they happened to have a Golden Dawn.

I didn't think there were any left!

About the most interesting thing in Farrell is this giant can of beer.

Even with a loss for Sam,

we always try to look on the bright side.

The bright side is where the light is.

Light.

It's a good thing.

I love finding ways to capture it with my B Quality camera.

Light makes everything look prettier.

This is a photograph of a flooded pothole in the

Iroquois Elementary parking lot.

This is the science experiment my students and I are working on.

I'm hoping it will show them how all living things need light.

Light is food for our soul

just as it is food for a plant.

Our quest for light should also be unstoppable.

We had a strong desire to try some

 egg dying different ways this holiday.

We went for the shaving cream and food coloring technique.

No Pinterest Fail, here!

It worked!

Well, 

they all worked for the most part.

Resident Artist Ellen Louise

got a little too creative with the color mixing,

and a few turned turd brown

with hints of avocado.

But, as with any artist,

she redeemed herself.

Here is a sneak peek at what I will maintain is 

her best work yet.

This masterpiece will be revealed on Easter Sunday.

Daily exposure to the light 

is important for 

mental,

physical,

and spiritual health.

There are many ways you can find the light--

through the sun,

through relationships,

through laughter,

through nature,

through song.
