Hello, Readers!
We've covered Life and Liberty
over the past two weeks,
so it's time to discuss the
Pursuit of Happiness.
I agree with Denis with one n,
the true joy is in the journey.
In order to enjoy the journey,
you have to be able to maneuver without pain.
Stay active!
Eloise still continues to enjoy outdoor workouts
and have added lots of biking
and pool classes, too!
You have to keep a sharp mind
if you are to in Pursuit of Happiness.
Reading is the easiest way for Eloise.
I just finished Game of Thrones, the novel
by George R.R. Martin.
Can someone tell me if he modeled the R.R.
after Tolkien?
Final analysis:
Masterful mind of the writer--
the detail is astounding.
The story--really interesting.
The length of time to read it and the overall mental investment--
Eloise grew tired of the butchering,
raping of women,
child abuse,
and horses dying.
When the animals catch the sword,
it kills me.
I can't wait to watch a few episodes so I can
see who they picked for actors.
Here's my next read.
Ok,
now I need a baby
to erase the mental image
of a stabbed stallion
and a spooky town a little too close to Harborcreek.
Ahh, much better.
The North East Firemen's Cherry Festival
is this week.
Eloise got her annual indulgence.
Candy apples are really only good
on Tuesdays.
After that they get mushy and melty.
Sam and his teammates make their splash Huskie style
at the dunking booth.
Natalie had her whirl at some games of chance.
The craziest thing happened in our pursuit of a BINGO win.
We put up $5 for the last games of the night.
We put up $5 for the last games of the night.
The last game was a $20 winner.
Both Natalie and Ellen had different winning cards--
one a horizontal line,
the other a vertical,
on B34.
The Pursuit of Happiness for Eloise
is spending quality time with friends and family,
and capturing nature's beauty.
Sam's team of Huskies
is headed to Section play this weekend
in pursuit of a spot in the state tournament.
Samstring with his hurt hamstring
is healed up and ready to attack.
We'll make sure he's smelling good.
We've been on him about his post workout stink.
Twice I've sent him back into the shower to scrub more.
When questioned by his intolerant sister about deodorant use,
Sam was insistent to the point of tears that he was using
his new Right Guard Xtreme 72 hour deodorant.
Sam came to find out that there is a clear,
protective plastic cover over the top of the gel that squeezes out.
Sam--
you need to REMOVE the plastic
in order for the deodorant to do its job.
Sigh.
I think I'll do just that Appollinaire--
right after I fix myself a little drink.
Happy weekend, Readers.
Enjoy the pursuit.
Eloise
