Happy Fourth of July weekend, Readers.
Eloise is posting a day early so I can enjoy
the hot one ahead.
And I don't mean heated debate either.
Let's try to take it easy, ok?
The title of this blog is devoted to Ellen Louise,
my brainy, collegiate daughter
who asked me if she should take her
new-used Honda to The Yankee Honda for servicing.
After being set straight on the actual name of the local Honda dealer,
she thinks The Yankee Honda
is a way better name than Bianchi Honda.
This is the same girl,
who when unloading the beer at the golf course this week,
thought there was a typo on the beer list
when counting Michelob cans.
She thought it was Michalow
for low calorie.....
Maybe she and her Penn Stater boyfriend
can take that trip to ASTRAbula, Ohio
that they've been talking about.
(That's what HE thought the name was).
Match made in Heaven.
Sigh.
Natalie can't escape this blog without
some well deserved teasing, too.
Her Daddy wasn't home to make her breakfast
the other morning,
so she fixed it herself.
And not to leave the biggest target in the house
out of the teasing...
Sam's been learning to fish.
It's hard to believe his sister is a Stylist.
Orange and black shirt,
mint and red chili pepper Walmart swim trunks,
mismatched black socks with holes in them,
and blue slides.
Still,
the peaceful pastime he's picked up
during the minimal baseball season
is really good for him.
This Yankee is looking forward
to a restful Saturday morning
refreshed from a night of sleep,
not bleary eyed from Friday night,
late-night blogging.
I'll be having my red, white, and brew
in my new coffee cup Ellen made me with her Cricut.
Still working on those cabin colors.
We added a long stripe of Roycroft Brass green
to the contenders
after so many commented that it would look nice.
We left the reds there also,
as a few liked the idea of a red cabin.
The two leaders have been Cedar on the left
and Ember on the right.
This is how they look from far away,
and a little closer up.
The sad little backside
needs some love.
It's getting some TLC this week.
Here are the three contenders again on the backside
which gets lots of sunshine.
You have to consider the existing roof, too.
It's brownish/reddish/orange.
We're keeping that for a few years
so the paint has to match for awhile.
I've decided that in keeping with our American system,
I'll form two parties in hopes that will solve the color crisis.
The Ember Camp
will be represented by a flame.
Cedars,
you get the cross-cut wood slab.
And because we had such interest,
I think a third party should start to form,
with new and progressive ideas.
You’re few in number,
but large on ideas.
Perhaps you can pull in support from the Brick Reds
and try to cause a little fury in this election of cabin color.
Here is your leaf.
Now you can really start slinging insults
at one another that you aren't just an opinion,
you are part of a party.
Hazel is sure enjoying the outdoors.
Her blockhead is either down a hole
or up a tree
looking for those sneaky squirrels.
And so show you
I can also make fun of myself,
this would have been me
back in 1776.
This Yankee is over and out.
Have a great weekend folks.
Make the best of it.
Eloise
