Lesson 588: Good vs Well

Hello there, Readers!
Happy Easter weekend,
and good Good Friday to you.

You can tell it is almost Easter--
the cards have arrived from Grandma

with full postage--

she lives 86 strides away from the Lamp Post.

Good for the postman, I suppose.

Good Friday got me thinking about
good vs well.

Let's start off with your weekend homework--
after these spring nature photos
to put you in a better mood.
Nobody likes homework over a holiday weekend.

(amazing how she blends in, isn't it?)

Weekend homework:
Read in full.

For you are going to lie to me on Monday
and try to tell me that you did your weekend grammar homework

here's the Cliff Note version of
the  good vs well rule
 from grammerly:

Good vs. Well–How Should I Use Them? | Grammarly

https://www.grammarly.com/blog/good-well/

The rule of thumb is that good is an adjective and well is an adverb.
Good modifies a noun; something can be or seem good.
Well modifies a verb; an action can be done well
However, when you're talking about health,
well can be used as an adjective.

 Well, then.
Here are some adjective versions for you--
people doing well---

Clark School's Mr. Hand
and his tiny bike posse.

If you do well in school,
good things come.

Word to the locals--
if you haven't seriously looked into Edinboro University
and all they are offering for an honors student--
you are crazy.
Ellen is receiving quite a college package!

Good test scores
mean preparing well.

We start them young.
Pennsylvania State Tests?
No Probllama!

Good job, kids!
You did well!

Here's a good facebook change:
Eloise--the Visual Storyteller.
Me likey.

Forgive the clarity of the photos--
they are still good,
although a bit foggy.

Eloise loves fog.
We've had some foggy days this week
and I wanted this blog to have a Londonish feel.

I don't get too creeped out walking in the dense
morning fog

now that I have a pitbull by my side.

Hazel and I spied this light
as we slogged through the wet fields.
A search light?
A beacon?
A come to Jesus moment?

It was just the light on the back concession stand.
Bummer.

Even the misplaced seagulls thought so.

April is Light it Up Blue Month
in recognition of Autism.

We're doing a good job with inclusion.
Thank you Autism Society of Northwestern Pennsylvania!

A special thanks to Erie County Elite Athletic Academy
who offered a baseball clinic this month
for those with autism.

It's a great new indoor place on Iroquois Avenue--
eastsiders, check it out!

Here is a peek into My Autismlandia--
sister Kenyan has a vlog!

Check out this video for a truer picture
of autism on the severe side.
You'll even catch a peek of Eloise.

It's a good, Good Friday.
Be well.

Lesson 587: Schooled

Hello, Readers.
Eloise here,
chippity choppity hair and all.

This photo shows the new length.
It was a necessity to even up the broken chunk.
Recipe for a hair disaster:
1.  YMCA pool chlorine
2.   Add hair bleach necessary to cover gray caused by 4 family members, 175 students, and a puppy who has a taste for shoes.
3.    Attach a 1995 hair scrunchy to your ponytail
4.    Leave on overnight
5.   Use a fox tail brush and dust pain to clean up pile of broken hair off of your pillow
6.  Put hair in your yard so birds can use it for their nests

It's only hair, right?

It's starting to look a little more like spring.
Baby buds and blossoms.

Soaking baseball uniform.
Yes, white.
I hate white.

Park walks with no jackets.

Still not quite ready to give up that basketball.

With some nice wins to start us off,

Top 20 Quotes Of The Week

Here is your food for thought tonight.
Now, let's be clear--
this share is not antagonistic--
it is not meant to make a statement--
nor imply anything.

I have 20 new students entering my classroom every hour. Though the business world would hardly expect adult employees to function in such an environment, this is the daily schedule for young people in America until they graduate. The frenzied pace is failing everyone. #CultofPedagogyPin

I read lots of educational articles and books,
and this was really interesting
about the structure of high school.
The author Bernie,
describes himself  as
just another frustrated teacher.

Mrs. Eloise isn't frustrated--
maybe just recognizing that we are on the cusp of change,
or need for it in some regard.

Teacher peeps,
parents,
administrators,
school board members,
and basically anyone who has attended high school
should read this for your weekend homework.

Have a great weekend!

Lesson 586: 767

Hello, Readers.

Eloise is a day late,
and $500 dollars short
in the posting of this blog.

I could blame the weather.

Last weekend we were all praying
for the snow to stop.

The robins were hanging out on the bare spots
on the road,
confused.

It's OK, Momma Robin.
Donkey is still trying to figure it all out, too.

By midweek,
the sun came out.

We are happy that Grandpa has a brand new knee!

Things were looking up!
Even the flowers were trying to fight their way to life.

Once everything was stable at the Lamp Post,
Eloise and sister Kenyan
headed out on a 28 hour,
767 mile adventure.

Traveling with my sister
is an continuous string of emotion,
due to a combination of
sugar consumption
and road rage.

We passed beautiful farms as we traveled
through our great state of Pennsylvania.

The bare trees moved from buds

 to blossoms.

We snagged Ellen Louise
from her class trip to Washington DC.

We brought her to Pittsburgh early Saturday morning

for an interview for a scholarship.
She's down to the final 6!

We snagged Cousin Jack from Duquesne

and made good on our ball team promise from last year.

We loved No Off Season in Tarentum, PA
so much,
we gave it another go
for the season opening tournament this year.

The boys started off the weekend with back to back wins!
It doesn't surprise Eloise at all.

I went for a walk with my best friend
 earlier this week

and we spied the team practicing.

Team motivation quote, inspiration, teamwork, fun, Frank Sonnenberg.

Eloise has to go reattach her head
to her body
because it spun off.

Rest is desperately needed
before round 3 of the weekend warpath.

After tomorrow's trip
the weekend total mileage will be
1,067!
