Hello, Readers!
It's the weekend
and Old Eloise is calling in
the radio distress signal tonight.
Mayday! Mayday!
Is her ship sinking?
Not really,
Not really,
but it sure has rained enough!
It sure has made for some pretty skies,
and landscapes on the way to camp.
My ship hasn't sunk yet,
but May leaves me feeling swamped.
We've been bowling banqueting,
school festival-ing,
Senior celebrating,
college dancing,
cat shuffling,
and of course,
the trout are biting.
May 1st for this Queen of Suburbia,
CEO of Lamp Post Inc,
is far from the once celebrated holiday
of May Day
marking the midpoint between
the spring equinox
and the summer solstice.
Looks peaceful, doesn't it?
No one on their phones
or trying to strangle each other
with the maypole ribbons.
At the Lamp Post it's all Natalie.
Natalie brings May flowers.
The girl has helped rescue her winter-sown plants
three times in the las week!.
They should be hardy enough,
making it through the rough Erie winter outside.
But babies are babies and need babying.
Into the greenhouse at night they go!
The other night,
the garage was the safe haven
from the wind.
Bunny is a good watchman!
Our front porch nest has two babies today!
I could not risk an extra peek.
I didn't want Mama to be off of them very long.
It's 37 degrees and raining....
Mayday! Mayday!
The ducks tell me not to worry.
I'll float.
Eloise
