Lesson 721: Odyssey

Good evening, Readers.
The light is on at the Lamp Post.
I'm glad you came inside to find rest
from your long and eventful journey.

Mother Nature painted the trees in the park
with golden touches as we enter November.

The winds swirled the falling leaves.

I found these cute fall drawings,
and if this one doesn't remind me
exactly of my shy little Ellen  when she was younger,
I don't know what does.
She had a hat just like this one.

The wind brought in the rains, too.

We spied our new friend Belle
checking out the puddles in the park.

Halloween night cleared up just in time,
and the kids had some long overdue fun.

The Sheriff

and her sidekick wore
their pink cowgirl hats as they stuck their heads
out the van windows.

They played tug with Penny's costume
so it was shredded by the time we started,
but they were cute, just the same.

I'm putting away the decorations this weekend,
including the 8 Halloween cards my mother sent us.
One for each, including the dogs,
and an extra just because she liked it.

The freshman football journey is wrapping up.
They boys played their last JV game last weekend.
The team gathered in the end zone,
not to celebrate a victory,
but to create a positive vibe
for their injured teammate.

Speedy healing, Hayden.

We said goodbye to the toaster this week.
The 2012 Chrystler Town and Country
we bought from my parents six years ago has served our family well.
It's been sitting on this plot of land for the last 9 years.
I named her the toaster because she looked
exactly like our toaster.
It even had sunroof for the toast to pop out of.

Our people mover has taken on a more modern look.
Sleek and sharp,

with the little fin on top
made it the perfect vehicle for our family.

So, what did Eloise name this one?
The Honda Odyssey represents this:

odyssey
/ˈädəsē/
noun
  1. a long and eventful or adventurous journey or experience.

It's our vehicle of the modern age--
so what else could be more fitting than
The Shuttle.
The space shuttle has a fin, too.

The next part of my long and eventful journey for tonight is bed.

Goodnight, Readers.
Eloise
