Lesson 854: Run for the Hills

Happy 5th of July, Readers!
America is 248 years
and one day old tonight!

The Lamp Posters
partied like it was 1776.

We spent some of the holiday
floating in the lake,

and at the Erie SeaWolves Baseball Game.

We had a great celebrating a win
with the hometown crowd.

I got Miss Swiftie
this fourth of July shirt.

Very clever!

The week prior
we left Erie's shoreline
and traded our floating rafts
and tall ships
for canoes

and hiking shoes.

The Lamp Posters headed to neighboring Ohio
and ran to the hills--
Hocking Hills, that is.

Eloise will give you a highlight reel!

A lovely rental on Indigo Lane.

The rental was lovely,
but getting there was a different story.
Hocking HILLS is named as such for a reason.
The hill part--expected.
The two lane, extremely windy roads--unexpected.
If you get car sick,
you may need to take some medicinal support with you.

However,
what lies at the end of each curvy road
is well worth the wait.

Ash Cave

Old Man's Cave

Rock House

A geologist's dream!

It was a nice change of pace
from our busy lives at home.

Sporty Sam was one with nature.

Well,
until he saw a spider in the canoe
and was stuck in the back on the wonky bench seat.

We checked out Jack Pine Studios

and the kids made blown glass pumpkins,

which they should be receiving this week.

If you travel Route 33,
you simply cannot miss Br3w3ry 33!

The drinks and food were excellent.

Even the dogs liked it.

As the sun sets this evening
and I reflect on our trip

Eloise
(and the SeaWolves)
have decided:

But maybe with some anti-nausea meds
for the roads!

Have a great weekend,
Eloise
