Lesson 575: Winter Blues

Good evening, Readers.

Erie had some snow today that came hard and fast.
Deep in the middle it,
sometimes we have to fight off the winter blues.

When you are live in Erie you are at the mercy of the weather.
We've learned to just roll with it.

Winter has as much diversity as any other season.

Some days the winds blow across the lake from the cold north,
and the sky and the lake are gray.

Some January days are a blue-skied bright.
Those afternoons are welcomed
but are usually cold!

One of my winter treats to myself
is a vase of fresh flowers in the kitchen.
It really helps beat the blues
when you add a few fresh, blue petals to your home.

Blue jays at my feeder help, too.

Can't beat this blue.
Ring pops.

Ring pops and ring fingers.

Some nights are stay-in-and-paint-your-fingernails
kinda night.

We'll be playing basketball in a blue gymnasium all weekend.

Siblings get black and blue
while beating the boredom in gymnasium lobbies.

Winter Storm Harper from last weekend
had many fearing the worst,
but it wasn't all that bad.

The snow was worth it as I grabbed this photo series
out in the Girard High School lobby.

Make the best of it, Readers.
Find something to do this weekend to beat the blues.

xoxo,
Eloise
