Lesson 702: Unpacking

 Hello, Readers.

Eloise, here,

ready to unpack the events of the week.

When I unpacked the Sunday paper last weekend
I found a nice tribute to the music of a very important year!

I didn't have much unpacking of the paper today,
because this shot made the front page.
Amazing.

Momma duck

is so busy with her ducklings,

I had to zoom the date to realize that paper was from this morning.

It's mostly because we fill our days here at the Lamp Post.

This family is never,

ever,

bored!

It's also partly because I emptied every sock drawer in the house

and dumped the One Sock bucket to make pairs.

It measured 7 feet in diameter.

However, we are getting a bit of a break with baseball.

It isn't as hectic as in years past because

Sam's playing field is in walking distance from the Lamp Post.

No complains --

even if I did have to drive him to practice.

We are so glad he's playing this season.

His business Sam's Services took a hard hit last summer,

but Sammy's back in business if you need help

with any dreaded

or unpleasant task you've been avoiding.

Aunt Karen is happy with her garage.

Grandma and Grandma are happy with their fresh picnic table.

It's all nice for when they visit with their growing-up-too-quickly grandchildren.

We've been unpacking the fishing gear at our favorite local spot.

Natalie loves to fish off the wall at the North East Marina.
She's been living large this summer.

Unpacking the weight of this pandemic has been hard for all of us,
but it was heavy for Natalie.
Her transitions need work.
Her anxiety and sensitivities are running high
with the constant changes.
In time she'll adjust.
It just takes awhile.

We got to add some cool photos to our
Things We Found While Hiking folder--

Ellen and Megan are ready to take us on some new local-ish trails.

I excitedly unpacked this Amazon box a few days ago.
Much like the Wal-Mart greeter,
the UPS driver always greets me by name.

My friend Keri is unpacking in far away Ecuador
and doing lots of good.
These children have not had school in over a year.
She's giving them English classes and dance lessons!
It's my favorite photo of the week!

People are always using the trendy phrase
"unpacking emotions."
Hazel is the most emotional dog I've ever known.
Chippy has her ticket!

He drives her insane.

Just about as insane as finding ONE dirty baseball sock
in the wash this morning.

No one likes summer homework,
so let's just call the short reading at the bottom
Food For Thought.
