Lesson 748: My World

Hello, Readers,
The Lamp Post Tech Equipment has a glitch
that I still can't figure out.
Eloise can find a way around
just about everything,
so photos from My World are coming to you
in this manner this weekend.

I reached mile marker 51 this week.

It was a mid-week birthday
amidst a time period of such upset.
An old family friend passed away.
Two other friends received bad health diagnoses
out of the blue.
And the free world showed support
for the yellow and blue.

This week has left old Eloise
thankful for another day,
praying for good health
and world peace.

I made a couple of trips down to Perry Square last weekend
to see the ice sculptures.

Once to see them lit up at night,

and another trip to photograph them
against the bright, blue sky.

Erieites hope we've waved goodbye
to Frosty and the heavy snows for this season.

If you want a nice shot of the open skies,
go to the Walmart parking lot in HC
and look southwest.
The world out there
is still peaceful and pretty.

                                                        Despite the heartache and worry

my 51st year has brought with it,

there are still lessons to be learned.

Check out the history of the Paralympic games.
These are the real athletes of the games.

It wound up being a good thing
this blog post was delayed.
Friends shared this with me this morning,
which is an absolute,
spot-on,
depiction of My World
five days a week,
36 weeks a year.

This,
from Clarksville, IN:
their version of We Are the World.
Weekend homework:
Watch this all the way through.
This looks just like the world I've lived in--
kids being kids
in the midst of a pandemic
and US and world news that is difficult
for an American child to process.

Eloise
