Lesson 895: A Little Bird Told Me

Hello, Readers

A little birdie told me

that it is Easter weekend.

The week leading up to tonight was a blur.
School was extra busy,
The Lamp Post was flashing red.
Emergency!
Eloise had a facial nerve flare
and I was pacing the house for days.

If any dear Readers
have had any experience with
trigeminal nerve issues,
please message me.

The pain has resolved,
but it left me depleted.
Pain saps your strength
and stamina.

Today was much better.
A slow morning without school.
Sun rising in the east

to greet the moon still hanging around in the west.

I love it when that happens,
and I catch the moon in a blue sky.

Spring is rebirth.

We got our three snows
on the daffodils!

Spring is reaching for the light.

A little bird told me that 105 Fridays from now,
I'll be writing my 1,000th post.

I tend to be a Plan for the Best-er
rather than a
Prepare for the Worst-er,
so I'm planning on being here to write it.

I've thought about that post,
and I'm sure I'll treat it similarly
to every other Friday night.
Look through the pics.
Delete the bad ones.
Upload the rest.
Post my faves.
Write the
story.

I think I will make available a link
to my personal
Great Work.
It will be my
Great American Story--
played out in a country
that I have believed
has ALWAYS been Great.

I started working on a cookbook
several years ago,
if the Longtime Readers recall.
I even asked some of you
for recipes.

I still have those recipes--
although they had to be converted
to be read on Google Docs.

That book,
like my Book Club That Is Not A Book Club
still doesn't have a title.
It will be similar to these,
written by Ree Drummond,
Pioneer Woman.

I love her cookbooks
because they not only have belly-filling
family recipes-

but they are also filled with photos
of the step by step directions!

Ree also includes her personal photos
of her children, pets,

and scenes out on the ranch.

So...
the aforementioned
Hot Cross Buns
did not turn out like Ree's.

Don't be afraid to write in your cookbooks!

I spent an extra 20 minutes
sawing off the bottoms of the
Burnt Cross Buns.

Homework assignment:
Check out Ree Drummond's
cookbooks,
blog,
or cooking show.

Did you ever wonder where I
got the need to assign reading?

Grandma, of course!
She still assigns me reading.

She doesn't have to twist my arm too far
to read Erie Reader.
Hey, look!
My favorite book store people!

I took a few minutes to
breathe without pain
and enjoy the morning
and I was so thankful
on this very good
Good Friday
morning.

Last week,
I sat with my book
and held it on my lap
but couldn't open it.

I held my warm coffee cup,
and brought it to my nose
to enjoy the aroma
but couldn't take a sip.

I watched the birds,
but couldn't raise my camera
and extend the lens.

Today I watched these little birdies,
a bonded pair of doves.
They appeared to be having
a conversation.

What are these little birdies
telling you?

Eloise

Hi! This is Heidi Frits. My husband suffered from facial nerve pain when we were first married- like 40 years ago. It was awful!!! He was treated at Cleveland Clinic and had surgery to cut the nerve. It was successful and he’s been fine. I feel for you. If you need more info contact me at 814-392-5151
