Lesson 778: Shine

Eloise & Co. spent
the evening  at

We've just kicked off our dancing shoes
and flopped on the couch,
laughing and telling stories about the night.
Boy did everyone shine!

How could you not be aglow
from riding this energy train?

Thank you to the Tim Tebow Foundation
for providing such a memorable evening
for the most special people among us.

Something not shining bright--
the sun earlier this week,
but the Erie cloud cover made this
winter scene beautiful.

I made bugers and dogs for dinner this week.
It was a welcome treat!
We miss our summer food!

Shining bright were these adorable little headlights
on the Sphero Indi!
I borrowed these from the IU Lending Library
and my students loved them.

Sam didn't get a chance to shine
at the end of his basketball game.

Nose packed with gauze.
That looks so unpleasant!
Yuck!

My cheering section seatmates
weren't too grossed out by it.

The sun did shine for some of the week.
Sam got outside to shoot hoops
while it was still light out after school
Such a welcomed event!

I listened to two great audio books this week.
Both were wows.

Amanda Gorman,
the young inaugural poet,
master of the English language,
penned another beauty
and voiced her own audio book.
It's so good I have the book on reserve
just so I can look at the words.
Hearing them was a true delight.
English lovers,
especially English teachers,
would love this book.

This memoir from my favorite journalist.
His perspectives on his life,
shaped by his career,
world events,
and cancer
make this a very memorable listen.

I need to interrupt this blog
for some sleep though.

Even people who shine bright
need a dimmer switch.

Goodnight, Readers.
Enjoy your weekend.
Spend your days well.

Eloise
