Hello, Readers!
It's time for your weekend report from the Lamp Post.
We're ending the week with a dusting of snow tonight,
but the scene across the street earlier this week
signaled shorts season.
Snowless evergreens,
Dr.
lonely sleds,
and confused snowmen
make us feel as if we've waved goodbye to winter.
Erieites know better though.
It takes courage to live in this unpredictable weather.
Maybe we should seek inspiration from animals.
They roll with the punches pretty well.
Warm weather brings about car washes.
We also like to measure ourselves against Sam wearing boots.
The last regular season game was played tonight.
We had a nice win in a close and exciting game against General McLane.
In 2019, took a fair amount of courage
for us to allow Natalie to work outside of our home.
She works for Penn State Behrend in the Dining Hall.
We worried about her safety,
as well as the impact it would have on others,
as she needs rides to and from the workplace
and some job supervision.
We are glad we made the decision to move forward,
and everyone is the better for it.
Natalie is a hustler!
This gal hustled herself a spot into Edinboro's Speech and Language
Graduate School.
She graduates in May,
then will start two more years of study
to fulfill her dream of becoming a
Speech and Language Pathologist.
We are all inspired by her consistency.
Ellen is a great student!
I was truly inspired by the courage it took
for our friend Anna
to sing the National Anthem at the girls basketball game!
She was called to melodic action
without warning or practice
after the PA system was not working.
Oh to be blessed with the ability to carry a tune!

The Huskies are going to have a wonderful opportunity
to connect to the International Space Station
using the equipment they built!

as our greatest tech challenge progresses.
Big news: HC’s Advanced Technologies Group has received preliminary approval to connect with astronauts on the ISS this upcoming Fall using equipment that they built! This is a huge honor and will require extensive training and testing over the next seven months. STEAM challenges are not easy, but they are incredibly rewarding! #HCBeTheOne #HCHSclubs #HCProud
I'm going to read my Blind Date with a Book this weekend,
so I was stalling around,
looking for something to read or listen to.
I've always heard Dr. Gary Chapman's work quoted,
and found it interesting.
He determined 5 Love Languages
He determined 5 Love Languages
based on how people best express love for someone.
I picked up the audio book
and am enjoying it.
It's narrated by Dr. Chapman
and he has a southern accent--
which,
forgive me,
but I often find annoying.
Teachers love quizzes,
and there is a quiz you can take to find out your love language.
Can you guess mine?
As a wordy girl,
you may have guessed that
Words of Affirmation
is my love language,
but it isn't.
I like to help,
I love to give gifts,
and am generally known as "huggy."
All of those things are important ways to express love.
Agreed.
But my Love Language is Quality Time.
There are 24 hours in a day,
and I'm awake for 19 of them.
Quality Time with my loved one
is what I desire the most.
It was Dr. Gary Chapman who began a chapter
stating that the definition of ENCOURAGE--
which is one of my very favorite action words--
means to Inspire Courage.
I really love that.
Thank you Dr. Chapman,
southern drawl and all.
