Lesson 762: Adventure

It's Football Friday, Readers!

Here is the next installment
in my adventure called Life.

I've been reminded several times this week
that life is an adventure.

Clark School likes the word.
It's the school theme for the year.

Speaking of Clark School,
here's an update on the tree at the base of their hill.

This was Monday.

And here she was three days later on Thursday.

There is a nice, crunchy leaf pile forming at her base.

I think my nature photos have been the best of the year.
Not a single filter applied.

This natural brilliance just makes one want to go out
and experience it before the long winter comes.

Last winter was very long for me.
It wasn't the worst ever in terms of snow totals.
It was the way the snow fell that made things difficult.
Snow,
freezing rain layer,
upon more snow,
with another freezing rain layer.

It made winter walking almost impossible.
We didn't travel our usual route
from December 30th to Valentine's Day.

I knew that I needed to have a goal
to not get into the walking doldrums.
Fitting I found this,
the very week I planned to write about adventures!

Here's a little more about the challenge.

❄️ Don't miss out on the Winter 100 Challenge! ❄️
☃️Hike 100 Miles November 1st - January 31st
🌲We have a tree planted in one of our National Forests for every completed challenge.

You might wonder why someone would need a virtual challenge
to stay motivated.
Seems silly to some, I'm sure.
It's always worked for me though.
I enjoy having a goal to chip away at,
a guiding compass, of sort.

Plus,
you can take your dog along.
And mine has been on stake out for chipmunks
and needs a little exercise.

Now that Sam's 2022 football season has come to a close
beneath the crescent moon

Slam, Truck, and the rest of the Bang Bang Gang
are all about dreaming of next season.

According to the sophomores on a fitness adventure,
they are getting huuuuuuge.

With a bit of a break between sports seasons,
I'll try to make some progress
on my reading adventure.

I'd flip this pic for you if I had more energy.
It's one of the perks of being a blogger
and not a serious writer--
I don't have to do anything I don't feel like doing.

I'll have some books to pass along soon--
always with a note regarding my own rankings.

My top three always reside in a special spot
atop my roll top desk.
These three were my 5 star reads.

You're extra lucky if you get my
word and quote index in the back!
I decided I'm writing my own dictionary!
These are going to be some of my first enteries.

Trick or treating is Monday!

Someone is excited!

And someone is not.
She's home tonight for some rest--
a non-covid virus
and one too many assignments
made this girl crave her own bed
and some good food.

She's got a couple of guardians
to guide Ellen through her Rest-Up Adventure
this weekend.

Find your own adventure this weekend.
Get out there!
There's magic in the air!

But the real magic happened at Eastland Bowling Lanes last night,
where a certain someone who does not want to be mentioned,
bowled 32 out of 36 strikes!!!

That deserves a blog mentioned--
maybe he won't notice because it's in tiny font.
