Lesson 770: Blizzard

Hello, Readers.
What a blustery blog this will be!
The wind is howling at the Lamp Post tonight.

Winter entered fiercely this year.
She received her annual welcome from the Erie Times News.

We watched the full Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
with Natalie tonight.
Now that we have the full, commercial free version from Amazon,
I noticed something new.
I didn't remember seeing the newspaper headlines at the start
of the program.

This one hit home for some families,
I'm sure.

Jack made it home for Christmas.
He got out of Dodge just in time--
well, D.C., actually,
but I guess that is Dodge in its own right.

This blizzard is creating some nice holiday havoc!

This was the scene from Oliver's Rooftop camera down on
Erie's Bayfront at 7:00 am today.

It seems we've met the criteria for an official blizzard:

The basketball game scheduled for tonight was cancelled,
but the guys still went to practice early this morning.
Huskies thrive in the snow!

So do horses.
They sure are pretty to watch in the winter.

Our last day was December 22nd,
which was very nice to have today off
to prep for Christmas Eve.

However,
that still left us with a four day teaching week,
which is quite long when you are trying to
contain a blizzard of kid-excitement!

The weather cooperated
and the students got outside for recess.
That helps make the afternoons much more bearable.

Who captured the students undivided attention?

The one and only

Santa!

As I listen to the wind howl
and house creak,
I think to myself,
Today was a good day.

We were together in the house
each doing something they enjoy.

We'll be spending the rest of the night
cleaning up
(and eating up)
the messes we made.

This will help ease the pain.
I barely touch alcohol anymore--
lost my taste and tolerance for it over the last few years.
I bought these for sips and tastes,
and of course,
the bottles and labels.

This one wound up being a very good choice!

Signing off tonight from out little snow village of Harborcreek.

Stay warm.

Eloise
